🤔 Building Trust in AI: How RAG is Raising the Bar

Ever asked an AI a question and got an outdated or just plain wrong answer? I’ve been there too. It’s like using an old map and ending up in a cornfield instead of your destination. Frustrating, right? That’s where Retrieval-Augmented Generation, or RAG, comes into play.

Key Facts

  • 📚 Mixing Data Sources: RAG lets AI pull in up-to-date information from external data sources, giving you fresher, more accurate answers.
  • 🛡️ Building Trust: It provides references for its responses, reducing errors and boosting transparency.
  • 💡 Staying Current: No need for constant retraining—the AI fetches current info on the fly.

I once chatted with a friend who was a little upset, but didn’t know why.. because their AI assistant couldn’t pull up the latest company policies during a crucial meeting.

It wasn’t her fault.

She set everything up correctly, had a great prompt, and knew how to ask it for what she wanted.

Most AI models are only as smart as their last training session, or they’re limited to what they have immediately available.

It’s like trying to stream a movie on dial-up internet and not even knowing everything available (remember those days?).

Not gonna cut it.

Think of RAG as giving your AI a live feed of your private info, the world’s latest information a combination of both.

A great visual is working with Perplexity – where it grabs what it needs when you need it.

Think about asking your AI assistant about today’s stock prices, and it gives you real-time data instead of numbers from months ago. It’s like upgrading from a static encyclopedia to a dynamic, connected advisor.

But it’s not just about having the latest info.

RAG methodology also builds trust when it can cite sources. Weather it’s yours, theirs or both.

When your AI can cite its sources, you feel more confident in its responses. It’s like having that friend who not only gives advice but also tells you exactly where they got it from.

For businesses, this makes a real impact. Providing accurate, up-to-date information enhances customer service and internal decision-making amongst other benefits.

And RAG isn’t limited to text—it can handle images, tables, and more, making it versatile across different fields.

Have you considered how accessing real-time data could transform your work? Or have you thought about a creative, unique way you could use AI to work with your data and are unsure how to do it?

RAG could be the way to make it happen.

What if your AI tools could instantly pull in your latest reports, customer feedback, all your data, or industry news?

This is how I setup our clients with Bara.AI 🔗 so their “private ChatGPT” knows everything about all their podcasts, guests and everything ever said on their show.

And this is even how you can ask my AI clone anything 🔗 about AI and it can pull detailed, nuanced responses from almost 1 million words I’ve trained it on from my newsletters, AI tools, coaching, strategies and more.

Hopefully this overview on RAG helps you understand this method of working with AI and has opened you up for some creative ideas!

Let me know what you’re thinking and how this could help you!

📰 Amazon Steps Into the AI Hardware Arena

ICYMI Amazon is stepping up to compete with Nvidia in the AI chip arena. They’re investing big time, and it’s about to shake things up.

Key Facts

  • 🚀 Amazon’s AI Chip Effort: They’re developing custom AI chips to boost their AWS services.
  • 🏆 Heating Up Competition: This move intensifies the race in AI hardware.
  • 💰 Strategic Investments: Amazon is pouring another $4 billion 🔗 into the AI company Anthropic.

By designing their own chips, Amazon aims to optimize performance and cost for their cloud services.

For those of us using AWS (Amazon Web Services), this could mean faster, more efficient AI capabilities at a lower cost.

This isn’t just a tech upgrade; it’s a strategic power play.

I remember when I first started dabbling with cloud services. The options were limited, and costs could quickly skyrocketed.

These were rudimentary years back, at best, and nothing like we have today.

Now, with giants like Amazon pushing the mark, we’re getting access to cutting-edge tech that’s both powerful and affordable.

So, what does this mean? More competition in the AI hardware space will propel innovation forward at lightning speed.

I’m calling it.

It challenges other players to step up their game, and ultimately, we —the users— benefit the most.

How does it affect you, really?

If you’re leveraging cloud services for AI projects, you might soon have access to more powerful tools that can handle complex tasks more efficiently.

Because most (not all) services we use these days are powered by AWS behind the scenes (nearly ⅓ of consumer products we interface with), this means we’ll see innovation faster due to adoption being at the forefront for developers.

Example.

I use Amazon Amplify as one of many services for a client project.

Today I logged into the console and for the first time I saw an “AI (beta)” tab on the sidebar.

It’s happening, and it’s happening FAST.

Have you thought about how these advancements might create new opportunities for your projects? Or the developers that work on your companies tools?

Forward this to the tech person/team that oversees what you’re working on and get their take. I’d love to make sure they know the options ahead of them.

🤖 Autonomous AI Agents Are Reshaping Customer Service

Marc Benioff, the CEO of Salesforce, recently shared his vision of a future where autonomous AI agents are central to business operations. It’s not sci-fi anymore—it’s happening right now.

Key Facts

  • 🤝 AI Agents Working Together: These agents will collaborate to handle complex tasks seamlessly.
  • 🛡️ Enhancing Security: AI agents will play a significant role in bolstering security measures.
  • 🌐 Transforming Industries: The integration of AI agents is set to completely rewrite multiple sectors.

Think of AI agents not just as chatbots answering simple questions but as dynamic team members handling projects, making decisions, and optimizing processes around the clock.

In customer service, for instance, AI agents are already making waves. Unity Technologies saved $1.3 million 🔗 by deploying an AI agent to manage support tickets. That’s real impact. And it’s only one of many.

According to recent stats, 63% of service professionals believe AI will help them assist customers more efficiently.

And get this—80% of customer interactions could be automated by AI agents, allowing human agents to focus on more complex, value-added tasks.

Think about it…AI agents could handle your routine tasks, analyze data for you, or even help with personalized customer experiences.

So let’s take on a new definition of “Agents” – maybe we call them “workers”. Where they each have a job, work independently from one-another, all while able to work together.

We’re less than thirty days away from 2025.

Ask yourself what you’re doing now that’s manual, annoying, repetitive, time consuming or expensive.

Then ask what an AI worker could take off your plate?

The possibilities are endless, but it’s all about using these technologies in a thoughtful way.

And finding the right balance between AI automation and the human touch helps us keep those personal connections that really matter.
