Most people are still prompting wrong.

It’s no one’s fault.

To be honest, only until recently did we discover this was even a thing.

But thanks to Greg Brockman and Ben Hylak, there’s a framework to fix that.

📍 Goal: Clearly define what you want AI to do. Precision is everything.

📍 Return Format: Tell AI exactly how you want the response structured (bullet points, table, essay, code, etc.).

📍 Warnings: Set guardrails. If accuracy is critical, specify it.

📍 Context Dump: Give AI background info, it performs better when it understands the full picture.

Master these, and your AI responses will go from meh to mind-blowing.

Why Good Prompting Matters

Think of AI like a high-performance sports car. Without a skilled driver (that’s you!), it won’t perform at its best.

The difference between a vague prompt and a well-crafted one can be night and day.

Good prompts help:

✅ Save time – Get the best answer on the first try.

✅ Improve accuracy – Reduce hallucinations and misleading results.

✅ Enhance creativity – AI becomes more innovative when given the right inputs.

This structure works best for reasoning models, like OpenAI’s o1, o3 and DeepSeek’s R1.

If you’re not customizing your prompts with this in mind, you’re leaving serious AI potential on the table.
