🧠 This Is Me Taking My Own Advice

Get this delivered to your inbox every Tuesday

I’ve spent more than 25 years building software, so when yet another $250 renewal notice from a service I barely use (PandaDoc) hit my inbox, this time I questioned everything.

PandaDoc is what I used for e-signing documents. Maybe once every 2-3 months.

No way I was going to pay that much for basic e-signatures anymore.

Ever felt that feeling?

If you run a small business, you’ve probably had the same reaction.

That moment pushed me to sketch an alternative on an Asana board and start playing with a concept in my head.

I built QuickSign for people like us.

  • Small Businesses who what to go fast.
  • Teams that need work done, without hefty overhead.
  • Anyone who just wants to enjoy the e-sign process and not overpay

My goal was clear: use today’s AI leverage to make contract signing better, without dragging you into a whole enterprise buying process.

The first 100 users lock in lifetime access for free because I care more about feedback than quick revenue.

But first, let me share more about this and why I’m building it transparently.. and show you how I made it.

✍️ Why I Built QuickSign

I built QuickSign to make signing fast, friendly, and affordable for small teams.

Key Facts

  • 🪄 Quiet Automation – AI drafts contracts, drops in fields, and assembles audit trails while you focus on deals.
  • 💸 Cost Reset – Market leaders charge $29–$59 a seat; QuickSign lands at $12 a month. Cheaper than Netflix. No caps.
  • ⏱️ Rapid Build – The first working version shipped in two weeks, refined almost daily with real feedback.

If you’re new here, I started coding in 1994 and never looked back. For a large majority of my life, like every other developer, I wrote every single line of code for all of my projects personally and for clients.

I love creating.

But I have so little patience for how long it’s always taken me.

Most projects die-on-the-vine, because they’re not high enough on the priority list.

In a world now where you can go from idea to prototype in a single day, I’m taking going fast seriously.

In one of my recent newsletters I talked about it…

Now is your time to build with urgency.

QuickSign is me following my own advice, in public.

If I ask you to move faster, I have to do it too.

You can read that piece here for the backstory and the push behind this build. I think you’ll feel the urgency in your bones.

We’re going to get into the details of QuickSign, but here’s the bigger takeaway for you.

There’s something in your workflow that annoys everyone and slows down cash. That friction point is a product idea with your name on it.

You don’t need a 40-page deck.

You need 10 conversations with real users and a product you can ship this month.

When I had this idea I didn’t just ear-mark it for one day that will never come, I started with what I knew to be the next best step, creating a project in ChatGPT properly (based on the training I teach – scroll down for a reminder why this is so important).

Once I had my project setup, with ideation, market research, competitive analysis and everything I needed, I was able to use AI as my thinking partner and co-pilot every step of the way.

Over the next few weeks, I worked on this between OTHER projects.

The power to have agents multi-task for you so you can single task is wild.

Then, after a while of testing and getting it to a happy place, I was proud to share it with my CTRL + ALT + BUILD community first. I got the feedback I needed from early users, validated the idea, and now it’s ready for the world!

🔎 QuickSign Specs
  • Chat-driven drafting → Type, “Need a two-page NDA, 24-month term.” Seconds later a live preview appears. Edit, approve, send.
  • Friction-free mobile signing → Signers tap once on a bus ride or in a coffee line. Less friction means faster closes.
  • Straightforward pricing → Three contracts on the house, then $12 a month or $99 a year. The first 100 users lock lifetime access for free (at the time of sending this we’ve got 76 left)
  • Built-in compliance → Audit trails, consent receipts, and encrypted storage run silently. View everything with one click.
🏆 How This Helps Different Teams

Freelancers and Studios
Send an Independent Contractor Agreement in minutes. Get the deposit signed today. Start tomorrow. How many gigs slip a week because a doc sat in limbo or you didn’t want to create a new contract now?

Agencies and Consultancies
Standard Service Agreements with role-based fields and signing order. Share a clean, branded experience your client can finish on mobile during their commute.

SaaS Founders and Product Teams
NDAs for user interviews. Vendor agreements. Quick pilots. Keep the legal stuff moving without a support ticket to your ops team.

Nonprofits and Schools
Volunteer agreements. Sponsorships. Permission slips. Save hours and keep everything in one place with audit trails for your board.

What would change for you if signing was a 10-minute task instead of a two-day stall? Where are you paying a silent tax in cash, time, or momentum?

Pricing That Respects Small Businesses
I’ve priced it the lowest in the industry for a reason. I don’t need a staff of 50 and a fancy-ass building in San Francisco.

🗺️ Where I’m Going With It
  • I’m going to build what customers want, so the first 100 signups are key to me. The more you share the earlier I can release.
  • I’m building an AI Contract Closer to help you get your signature faster.
  • I’m also building an AI Red-liner to help make sure you don’t miss anything important in both the drafting AND the signing stage.
  • Webhooks for automations – for the nerds like me
  • And I’ve got so many more ideas
🔗 Try QuickSign

Run your next agreement through it and tell me what feels great and what needs some work.

I’d love to hear what you want next.

Your feedback shapes the roadmap. And it might save someone else a few hundred bucks and a lot of waiting.
