✍️ You’re More Creative Than AI, but for How Long?
Researchers at UC Berkeley did a study that shows even though AI can write fast, it misses the unique perspectives and emotions that we humans bring to our stories.
Key Facts
- 🧠 Human Creativity Stands Out: We can weave personal experiences and emotions into our stories, something AI struggles with.
- 🤖 AI’s Shortcomings: ChatGPT and similar tools can’t match the rich storytelling that comes naturally to us.
- 💡 Potential in Teaming Up: Our creativity combined with AI’s speed could lead to interesting new ideas.
Ever learn the old myth of Pygmalion—the artist who fell in love with his own sculpture?
It’s a classic on creation and emotion.
Nina Beguš, a researcher at UC Berkeley, used this story to explore how humans and AI differ in storytelling.
She asked both people and AI models to write stories based on this myth.
What’s interesting is that human writers drafted stories full of emotion and unexpected twists. Our narratives had depth, with characters that leaped off the page and kept us in suspense.
While AI-generated stories were often predictable and lacked tension, they tended to stick to straightforward plots without character development while staying too structured.
But we all know that AI models are learning from us…so their stories are becoming more emotional and nuanced.
In fact just last week OpenAI released a new version of GPT-4o 🔗 that everyone is calling the “creative writing” release.
It’s already better than before. And it’s happening fast.
So, what does this mean for us—as entrepreneurs, creators, or just curious minds?
I think we’re exactly where we need to be.
At the edge of where tech is merging with opportunity.
And honestly, I find this exciting! Imagine the possibilities when we combine our creativity with AI’s capabilities.
🧠 Logic-of-Thought Prompting: The AI Brain
A new method called Logic-of-Thought (LoT) is making AI think more like us by helping them reason through problems in a logical, step-by-step way, leading to more accurate and reliable responses.
Key Facts
- 🔢 Logic-of-Thought (LoT) Prompting: Guides AI to use logical reasoning, similar to how we tackle complex problems.
- 📈 Boosted Accuracy: LoT outperforms older methods, enhancing AI’s performance on challenging tasks.
- 🤝 Plug-and-Play: It’s flexible and works well alongside other prompting techniques.
Ever had one of those moments where an AI tool gives you an answer that just doesn’t make sense?
Frustrating, right?
I remember when I was banging my head against my keyboard in the early days of building the prompts I wanted to help create my podcast episode scripts.
I kept telling myself I was close, I would get it, not much further and I think i can crack it..
But LoT is changing that by helping AI break down tough tasks into simpler, logical steps—much like how we’d solve a puzzle or work through a tricky decision.
Realistically this is a great way to structure your prompts anyhow. In a (say it with me) Logic of Thought process..
When put to the test, the numbers were impressive (tech stuff)
- LoT improved the Chain-of-Thought’s performance on the ReClor dataset by +4.35% and on LogiQA by +5%.
- When combined with other methods, LoT boosted results on the ProofWriter dataset by +8%.
Ok stick with me if you just glazed over that.. here’s why this matters:
As AI continues to sneak its way into our businesses and daily lives, having models that can reason logically is huge.
Think smarter decisions, better data analysis, and more intuitive customer interactions.
I’ve been experimenting with LoT in some of my own projects, and the difference is noticeable.
For example, when I prompt AI to help me plan out a complex project, using logical steps helps generate more coherent and actionable insights.

I’m curious to hear your thoughts—how would LoT change things for you?
📉 Chegg Stocks Drop While AI Rises
So, here’s a story that’s been on my mind. You might have heard of Chegg—a big name in online education. They were riding high, especially during the pandemic when everyone shifted to online learning. But then, along came ChatGPT, and things changed—fast.
Key Facts
- 📉 Massive Stock Drop: Chegg’s stock has plummeted by a staggering 99% from its peak.
- 🏫 Students Pivoting: More and more students are turning to ChatGPT for homework help because, well, it’s free and accessible.
- 🌐 Trends Reversed: The very shift to online that once boosted Chegg is now being outpaced by advancements in AI.
This really got me thinking—if a company as big as Chegg can be flipped upside down almost overnight, what does that mean for the rest of us?
I think this story shows that above all, we need to be adaptable.
The only way we lose is if we stay the same. Because AI is changing things, whether we like it or not, the ones who embrace the change will be the ones who succeed.
I’ve been considering how this applies to my own ventures. To be honest, it’s both exciting and a bit daunting.
For example. When I was building https://bara.ai 🔗 I must have adjusted my own plan at least 4 times before I launched.
Now even after launching and starting to onboard new customers weekly, I’m still refining how I speak about it, modifying my language and adjusting again ideal customer targets and what can make it truly shine.
Adaptability might just be the new currency, so that begs the question—what’s the best way to be adaptable in our personal and professional lives?
I find myself saying this nearly every week.
Now is the time to embrace AI, learn about it, and strategize how it fits into our future. Let’s not wait to be reactive.
