01: My New AI Podcast Network

It’s been years since I’ve had the time and energy to build projects in public. As much as I love sharing/teaching/coaching – I have the heart of a builder.

A week ago, I wrote about the announcement from OpenAI that they were reducing the cost of GPT-4 Turbo and releasing new tools, including text-to-speech. Combining this news with my passion for growing a media company and my interest in automation and scaling, I am excited to share my latest side-hustle proof of concept with you today: 

“Daily Weather Forecasts,” a podcast network powered entirely by AI.

For me, it’s not just about leveraging technology; it’s about rediscovering the joy of creating something innovative and personal and sharing it with the world. So, at the heart of this project is a simple yet profound question:

🤔 Can AI and automation manage, produce, and publish an entire podcast network?

Discovering that the answer is a resounding YES and doing it for fun has been awesome!

Live today is a 100% AI-driven Podcast channel with seven shows ðŸ”— of big cities worldwide that all have a localized breakdown of the weather in their area. Every morning at 5am local time, seven days a week, the listener gets a personal outlook for their day in 2 minutes or less. I incorporate local geography and make it feel like it’s truly meant for them.

Using Make.com ðŸ”—, I’ve set up a system that keeps the network running smoothly and ensures each episode feels personal and engaging. It’s thrilling to see how AI can transform raw weather data into narratives that resonate with each listener.

One thing I love about this project is that I’m involving my daughters and introducing them to the possibilities of AI and its creative applications.

During the ideation process, I involved my 11 and 12-year-old girls and showed them what I was working on. This helped them to come up with ideas as well. We went to breakfast, and they shared their thoughts on what kind of podcasts they would like to try and listen to themselves. We discussed how technology can be used as both a tool and a storyteller, exploring new possibilities.

This got me even more fired up, because in addition to the extra time building with my girls, it’s the potential for growth and scalability in this project excites me the most.

The Potential I’m Chasing

Given its AI-driven nature, expanding “Daily Weather Forecasts” will be a relatively straightforward process for me, thanks to my years of experience as a systems architect and CTO, and what I love leading now with an incredible team at Bara Agency ðŸ”—. I carefully thought through the scale of the project as I built it, which has made it easier to expand the platform and roll out new podcasts to different markets. My ultimate goal is to create a dynamic and expansive network with the same level of sophistication as the technology behind it. I also plan to involve my kids in the process so that they can learn more about prompt engineering and gain experience in creating and launching products. They want their own podcasts too, so the compromise is they will build them with me. 😎

Expanding globally is a big aspect to my vision for this project. The strategy is to start with cities such as London, Hong Kong, and Singapore, along with major cities in the United States. The objective is to establish a truly international network with content in various languages across the world. The aim is not only to reach a wider audience but also to create a platform that caters to everyone, regardless of their location or language, and adds value in a scalable way. I have it all mapped out in my head and I can’t wait to iterate and add these elements as we go.

02: Parenting with AI

Quin also offers support beyond the basics. It assists in areas like homework help and emotional support. Jill envisions Quin evolving to offer more personalized guidance, providing a source of emotional support for parenting challenges.

While technology can’t solve all parenting challenges, AI-powered tools like Quin can help parents enhance the parenting journey with informed, personalized support, making it a valuable tool for managing their roles more efficiently. This is a significant leap forward in using AI to aid parenting and it’s heartening to see how it can integrate into family life.
