🧑‍🎨 AI & Art? Here’s the Truth

For most of my life I identified as a “non-creative”.

Just picture me, as a kid.

…the scrawny white-boy.

Trying to figure out how the world works while (what felt like) everyone around ‘little Jimmy’ was painting, crafting, and making original work.

I’m not saying I was alone, I had great friends and an awesome childhood.

But, as an only child and a ‘tinkerer’, I never really embraced that creative spark.

Years later realizing I was thinking small, I realized how creative I actually was, and have awesome ideas – just like I know you do. But it always felt like an uphill battle, even to this day I hesitate on the question because it doesn’t come as natural.

Now over the past few years, with the wild abilities of AI, I’m finding creativity in the most unexpected places.

Like the fact I made an entire album with AI.

The contrast got me thinking…

When you’re open to AI expanding creativity and art, something special happens.

Today, let’s talk about how AI is becoming your creative partner.

AI works like a tireless assistant who helps you sketch, write, and compose your creative concepts faster than ever before.

But the heart of the work?

The meaning behind it?

That stays completely human.

Yep, I said it, and I’ll prove it to you.

🤔 What’s Actually Happening Right Now

The numbers tell an interesting story:

  • 70% of creative professionals now use AI tools every single day
  • Last month, an AI-helped song cracked Billboard’s Top 40 for the first time
  • Creative software that lets humans and AI work together grew 180% since 2023

So what about beyond the numbers?

Let’s look at real examples.

There’s an Instagram account called “There I Ruined It” where someone uses AI to make Johnny Cash sing “Barbie Girl” and mashup countless random tracks and styles.

It sounds ridiculous because it is.

But it also shows how AI lets us blend things nobody would have tried before. Musicians are using these same tools to discover new sounds and reach audiences they never could have imagined.

Firms like Zaha Hadid Architects feed rough sketches into AI models.

Within minutes, they can test wild roof shapes and impossible curves.

What used to take weeks of calculations now happens before lunch.

This means more time to perfect the designs that actually get built.

Solo game developers compete with studios, where one person with a laptop can now use GPT-4 to write complex storylines with branching paths.

The AI handles dialogue variations while the developer focuses on gameplay. Production costs drop substantially and unique games reach players faster.

Teachers reclaim their evenings by using AI lesson planners save about six hours every week.

That’s six hours they can spend giving students personal feedback instead of formatting worksheets. When I found this example, I read that one teacher explained she finally has time to write individual progress notes for each student.

Parents love it. Kids feel seen. Test scores are improving.

🫵 What This Means for You

Speed meets soul. AI handles the repetitive stuff. This gives you more time for the work only humans can do. Adding emotion. Creating strategy. Finding that weird angle nobody else would think of.

Everyone gets to play. You don’t need a recording studio to make professional music anymore. You don’t need expensive design software to create stunning visuals. A smartphone and the right AI tool can turn anyone into a creator.

Business impact you can measure. Marketing teams report writing ad copy three times faster. Design agencies cut prototype development time in half.

Jenny Martinez puts it perfectly:

“AI is the piano; you’re the pianist. The instrument expands your range, but the melody still comes from the player.”

Let’s keep this going and break it down further.

🏠 For your personal life:
  • Planning a birthday party? AI can generate themed decoration ideas based on your budget
  • Learning guitar? AI apps listen to your playing and suggest specific exercises
  • Writing thank-you notes? Get help finding the right words without sounding generic
💼 For your professional life:
  • Stuck on a presentation? Feed your main points to AI and get ten different ways to structure them
  • Need fresh social media content? AI can turn one blog post into 20 unique social updates with creative spins
  • Struggling to memorize something? An LLM can help you create an alliteration or rhyme out of it in a flash.

The key is this: AI amplifies what you already bring to the table

Your experience, your relationships, your understanding of what matters. Those remain irreplaceable.

✌️ Let’s Talk

I believe the next breakthrough novel, chart-topping song, or brilliant marketing campaign will have two signatures. One human. One silicon.

So here’s my question for you:

How are you teaming up with AI in your creative work? What’s working? What’s frustrating? What surprised you?
